Rainmakers 9

OWONRIN ODI, Rituals to End Police Violence
July 7 – September 3, 2016

post number 3 — A Message from Yeye Teish, August 6, 2016

Alafia good people,
I’m a day late with this ritual recommendation because my communication systems (phone/internet) were down due to storm activity.  Some houses collapsed in New Orleans and a few power lines went down in my area.

Even if you can’t do the ritual tomorrow, do it any day you can at 9 am or 9pm wherever you are. Great gratitude to the many who have been performing this ritual. I will continue to post until Sept 3rd.

Yeye’s Recommendation

Think about the ways that we can foster healing at this time.
We are still making a great noise to break up the negative influences. Perhaps we want to create chants to accompany the horns, rattles, bells, and drums. Invoke that hatred, violence and death dissolve, desist, and decrease.

Let’s put extra prayers for healing in the clouds. We want our tears to become healing waters.

For Example
Send healing rain to the family members of those slain so that they can gather the strength to fight the cases in court.

If you have been catching rainwater and/or praying into collected waters use some of it to sprinkle on the streets where shootings have taken place, near the hospitals where the wounded have been taken, at the doorway of the churches and community centers addressing restoration.

Gather your community members, consult with your elders, remember the healing practices of your traditions. Do what you can, where you can, when you can.

We have a beautiful planet people and we can live here together.

First Timers

If this is your first time connecting with this work, here is the basic ritual:
If you have Eshu/Elegba/Elleggua or other “reality transformer” deity please do this in the presence of that deity. You may bring together three stones that are naturally colored red, black, and white, you can use gemstones (jasper, agate, onyx, etc.) or you can paint them for continual use.  Place these three rocks in a pile to serve as your focus. Or you may do this in the crossroads of the streets, at the entrance to the forest/park, or at the front door of your home or community center.

Make a Loud Noise
We are asking that the human community wake-up. We are asking that the old spirits come back, that our ancient practices be renewed and the endangered species return.

You can blow a horn, beat a pan, pound a drum, shout, stomp, and clap.

Make a loud sound and let it vibrate throughout the world.

Let It Rain
Lift your faces to the sky.

We must pray. We must set an intention to change. Pray, project that prayer into the clouds above, and send it into the atmosphere. Be sure to direct the healing waters to the places where it is most needed.

Ask the Sky Spirits to cleanse our minds, hearts, and bodies; to wash away the stench of fear, hatred, and violence, and the scars those leave upon our Earth.

Shake your rattles and your rain sticks, imitate frog calls and play recordings of the sound of rain falling on the Earth. Let your liquid body become one with the rain.

Imagine a renegade police officer who is looking to bash somebody’s head in or discharge a bullet.  Then see a rain cloud right above his head that pours down upon him and washes away the fear and hatred.

Send rain to water the forests and gardens, to replenish the earth, to wash away the tears of those who have lost loved ones.

Set a clear intention to be the change. Ask for guidance on the actions you must take. THEN TAKE THAT ACTION NO MATTER HOW SMALL.

Please keep me informed of your progress.
